About Steve

Steve Ouimette is an award-winning artist/composer/producer and a 17-year veteran of the video game industry.  His recent work can be heard on the wildly successful Guitar Hero III and GH Aerosmith games on XBOX 360, PS3 and Nintendo Wii.  To date he has created nearly two dozen tracks ranging from exacting re-records to original takes on songs like the Charlie Daniels classic, “The Devil Went Down To Georgia” and a guitar-specific reworking of “We Three Kings“.  He has also made contributions to the upcoming Guitar Hero: World Tour.

Announced at the 2008 E3 show in Santa Monica, Steve produced and performed all 40 tracks for the upcoming Konami title, Rock Revolution.  Though Steve has recently made a name for himself, creating cover tracks and re-records for rhythm-based games his dedication, diversity and passion for music in many other genres is becoming apparent.  He has created music and audio for companies as wide ranging as Microsoft, AOL, Digital Chocolate and HBO.

Never ending in his search for unique and creative musical outlets, Steve pushes forward into new sonic territory by creating his own unique acoustic instruments as well as seeking out the odd and individual instruments long forgotten.  Ranging from the GuitarViol to the Marx-o-Chime, Steve dedicates a great deal of time to brining naturalness and new tones to video games, film and television.

Steve holds a B.A. in music performance and composition from California State University at Hayward.  He also writes a monthly column for Premier Guitar Magazine called “You Can’t Do That”.  Visit Steve on Myspace
